Other Information: |
This cemetery contains a very large
"grave shelter" that contains several graves underneath. It is quite probable
there are many unmarked graves for deaths between the 1830's - 1860's as the
George James family lived on a farm located at this cemetery in the 1830's. The
last person buried there, Charles Ewell, had been an Arkansas legislator for at
least 3 terms. The last time I attempted to enter this cemetery (which has been
over two years), I was told by the owner that I had to give at least two weeks
notice and then, perhaps, someone would then be able to let me in. When one got
to the cemetery, you had to find the owner and then drive through an ostrich
pasture, open the corral gate (at which time you are in the pasture with the
ostriches), drive into the corral, close the gate and then go into the
cemetery. I had tried twice in one week to enter the cemetery and was denied
admittance; I filed a complaint with the prosecuting attorney's office and my
complaint was dropped by them as they felt that |
